This policy describes the personal information IPTV Pro handles, the reasons, who else sees it, and what you are entitled to ask of us. It applies to iptv-pro.co.za and to the service, and it is issued under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
IPTV Pro is the responsible party for your information. Any question or request about it can be sent to contact@iptv-pro.co.za.
Read it together with our terms and conditions.
POPIA only permits processing where there is a lawful ground for it. The table below lists everything we process and the ground we rely on. There is nothing held that is not on it.
Before introducing any new kind of processing, we will update this page first.
IPTV Pro sells a set number of simultaneous streams per household, with Multi Room adding more. That only works if we can see how many streams an account has open, so our servers log when a connection starts, from which IP address, and how many streams are running.
Without those records we could not tell one household running four rooms from four households sharing one login — and honest subscribers would end up paying for the ones who share.
Where your player identifies your device by MAC address or device key, that identifier stays on record only while your package runs.
These records are used to run and protect the service and nothing else. We do not analyse what you watch and we do not sell viewing data. Section 9 explains how to object to legitimate-interest processing — though a subscription cannot run without these logs.
Most conversations with us happen on WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta under its own terms and privacy policy. We are one side of the conversation; the platform itself is theirs.
The chat history is retained so a conversation can resume without starting over, so we can check what was sent, and so billing or refund questions can be settled later.
Screenshots are the quickest way to solve a setup problem, but they sometimes show more than intended — other notifications, other apps, a name. Crop freely. And please never send card numbers, banking details or passwords; we never need them.
If you would rather not use WhatsApp, email contact@iptv-pro.co.za works just as well.
Card and PayPal payments are processed by payment providers who collect your payment details directly under their own policies. We receive confirmation of payment and enough detail to link it to your order — never your full card number.
Crypto payments are recorded on a public blockchain by design. That record is permanent, visible to anyone and outside anyone's control, including ours. If you ask for a crypto refund we keep the wallet address you supply for that purpose only.
Payment providers, to take payments and make refunds.
Hosting and delivery providers, only to the extent needed to get the stream to your connection. Acting on our instructions makes them operators under POPIA: they may use your information solely for the job we give them, and must safeguard it.
Our accountant or legal adviser, and only when their work actually calls for it.
Authorities, where the law compels disclosure or where it is needed to establish or defend a legal claim.
That is the full list. We do not sell personal information, and we do not pass it to advertisers, data brokers or marketers.
Section 69 of POPIA limits unsolicited electronic direct marketing. We only send marketing to customers who have asked for it, and every message tells you how to stop it.
Receive something promotional you never requested? Reply once and we remove you straight away.
Account and login details — for the life of your package and a further twelve months, which covers returning customers and late billing queries.
Invoices and purchase records — five years, as the Companies Act and the Tax Administration Act require.
Stream and connection records — no longer than twelve months, which is what we need to enforce stream limits and look into misuse. They are then deleted.
Chat history and screenshots — held while useful for supporting you, erased the moment you request it.
Under POPIA you may: ask whether we hold information about you and request access to it (sections 23 and 24); ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date or unlawfully obtained (section 24); object to processing based on legitimate interest (section 11(3)); and withdraw consent wherever consent is the ground, without affecting what was lawfully done beforehand.
A formal access request runs through the Promotion of Access to Information Act, but in practice a plain message to us is enough — we would rather answer you directly than point you at forms. Expect a reply within 30 days; a complicated request may need one extension, which we would explain to you.
Before releasing anything we check the request genuinely comes from you — writing from the contact details on your order is normally all that takes.
Worth knowing: asking us to delete your information ends your subscription, because your login and device identifiers are what the service runs on.
If you think we have mishandled your information, tell us first — if we got it wrong, we will fix it.
You are also entitled to complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at any time, free of charge and without going through us first. Contact details are at inforegulator.org.za.
Some cookies are essential: without them pages would not load or remember basic settings.
It may also use analytics cookies, but only after you agree through the consent banner. Declining is as easy as accepting, and you can change your choice whenever you like.
Your browser settings also let you block or clear cookies. Blocking the necessary ones may stop parts of the site from working.
Some of our providers — hosting, payment and messaging among them — operate outside South Africa, so some information is processed abroad.
Section 72 of POPIA allows this where the recipient is bound by law, binding corporate rules or a contract giving protection substantially similar to POPIA, or where the transfer is needed to perform our contract with you. Those are the grounds we rely on.
On request we will name the countries concerned and describe the protections in place for each.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect what we hold, as section 19 of POPIA requires. No system can be made perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
If a security compromise affects your personal information, section 22 requires us to tell the Information Regulator and you as soon as reasonably possible after we become aware of it, and we will.
You can help by keeping your login private, not posting your MAC address or device key in public screenshots, and alerting us at once if an unfamiliar device appears to be watching on your login.
IPTV Pro is not for children. POPIA defines a child as anyone under 18, and subscribers must be at least 18. We do not knowingly process a child's personal information without the consent of a competent person, as sections 34 and 35 require.
If you believe a child has sent us personal information, let us know and we will delete it.
In a household where children use the screens, most player apps offer a parental PIN. It is worth setting one.
No decision with legal consequences for you is ever left entirely to software, and we carry out no profiling of the kind section 71 of POPIA addresses.
Automatic checks on the number of open streams may raise a flag, but a person reviews every case before any account is suspended.
We may revise this policy. The version on this page is the one in force, with the date of the latest change shown at the top. Where a change affects you in a meaningful way, we will take reasonable steps to tell subscribers.
